Since 2003, the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum and many very dedicated volunteers have held the “Seaplane Homecoming” each fall on Keuka Lake, right where Curtiss made some of his greatest contributions to aviation. In the early 1900’s it took bravery, ingenuity and cunning to do what he did and every aviation enthusiast owes him a debt of gratitude.
This year is no exception. Thanks to the generosity of the owner/pilots, a wide variety of Seaplanes will gather at Depot Park. You will have a chance to get up close to the aircraft and talk to the proud owners. You’ll learn a great deal about why water flying is so satisfying and exciting. It’s a very unique way to experience the freedom that being a pilot provides and they love to talk about it.Register your seaplane now
Wings & Wheels in Hammondsport is also about cars. After all, Glenn Curtiss was a pioneer in the advancement of internal combustion engines and was himself a car enthusiast. During this event the proud owners of interesting, rare and beautiful cars will put them on display for your viewing pleasure. There will be awards in multiple categories where the owners will be presented with trophies and you will be the Judge. All awards will be based on spectator votes, so you’ll be an integral part of the process! Spectators of all ages love the variety of cars ranging from very early examples to American muscle, street rods and foreign and American exotic sports cars. You’ll get to meet the owners and learn as much as you want about each that interests you. Some may even be for sale!Register your car now
