Activities For Kids

There will be lots to do for kids of all ages so plan to bring them! The seaplane activity at Depot Park is always a favorite! The car show will feature unique and interesting cars that always captivate the young ones, too. There will be a trophy given out during the car show for the “Kids Choice Award”, so while you’re looking at and deciding on which cars to vote for (more info on awards below) your self, your children will do the same. We want their involvement and votes each day at the car show. There will also be a “Kid Zone” at the museum tent in Depot Park with specific activities geared toward kids. Then, of course, there is the Museum, which you’re encouraged to visit while you’re here. Leave your car where it is and take the shuttle! Or park at the museum and after your visit, leave your car there and take the shuttle into town.

Car Show Awards

Unique trophies will be awarded on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM in the Village Square. Unlike some car shows where the judges are experts who critique ever inch of your car from top to bottom, the judges at Wings & Wheels in Hammondsport are the audience members. Those who choose to participate (and all will be encouraged) will be provided with a ballot where they will vote for their favorites in each category. Those votes will be tallied and awards will be given that day. The award categories are:

  • American Classic (1998 or older) – 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
  • American Exotic (1999 or newer) – 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
  • Foreign Exotic (all years) – 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
  • Best of Show
  • Kids Choice Award
